Rocky Ford is FULL of fish

Rocky Ford Creek is full of water and fish right now. It is REALLY FULL of fish. Darc and Matt got a chance to fish together on the creek and were rewarded with some of the best fishing either of them had seen in years. It's the norm right now for fly fishers of all levels to catch fish. Moderately experienced anglers have been reporting 20+ fish per day when they stop into the shop. Matt stopped counting fish early in the day, but he is guessing between 50 and 75 fish landed between first light and 2pm. What a day!  Opening day has been good to me the last couple of years.  I started out fishing one of my favorite runs swinging a hoh-bo spey.  Not a single bump.  Continued fishing the swing until about 1pm.  Finally decided to check out the Miller Hole to see if anyone there was catching fish.  Saw a fisherman hook up and very few other fishermen around, so I grabbed the spey and the nymph rod and walked down.   Read More . . .
